“We discovered Pedego Electric Bikes while on vacation,” said Roueche. “And we’ve been enjoying fun, relaxing electric bike rides ever since. With our Pedegos, we can go longer, farther and faster than on traditional pedal bikes.”

Electric bike rentals are available at Pedego Glendale. The store is close to Skunk Creek Trail, which presents numerous signs along the route that explain the flora and fauna of the desert. The view includes various cacti, quail, rabbits and an occasional roadrunner. Pike plans to offer guided and self-guided tours, including a “Bike and Brew” ride, as the store rolls into full swing.

The store also sells all 12 models of Pedego’s popular electric bikes. Pedego bikes have 500-watt hub motors that help riders cruise distances of 20 to 60 miles without getting tired and sweaty. The twist-and-go throttle gives riders instant manual control over their speed, while Pedal Assist automatically adds power to their pedaling. Riders love Pedego’s California-style cruisers, including the Pedego Platinum Interceptor, a fully loaded cruiser bike with a 48-volt battery that propels riders with extra power; the Pedego Interceptor, which boasts the same powerful 48-volt battery; and Pedego’s Comfort Cruiser, which is powered by a 36-volt battery for gentle help with hills. Also available are the sleek City Commuter; the sturdy Stretch cargo bike; the Trail Tracker fat-tire bike for riding on sand, gravel and snow; the Ridge Rider electric mountain bike; and the Latch, an ingenious folding bike, designed for portability and convenience. Other models include the electric tandem bike for two and the accessible Pedego Boomerang with an ultra-low step thru frame. Pedego also recently introduced the Airstream model for camping devotees. Free test rides of several models are available at the store.

Both Pike and Roueche are avid cyclists, and the opportunity to open a Pedego store in Glendale made their dream of business ownership come true. Pike’s prior career was in sales, and Roueche spent years in healthcare, making their combined background a perfect match for selling a healthy activity that people love.

“We’ve seen how much Steve and Sherry love riding Pedego bikes,” said Pedego Electric Bikes CEO and co-founder Don DiCostanzo. “We know they’ll have a lot of fun sharing their cool biking experience with the Glendale region.”

Lindsay Monroe Arrives in Franklin on her 1,700-mile Bike Ride From Tulsa to Richmond After Walking Coast-to-Coast With Her Dog

Monroe will ride her Pedego electric bike to complete her nearly 5,000-mile adventure

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., Oct. 3, 2017 — Lindsay Monroe, 35, who walked 3,200 miles across America from November 2016 to September 2017, will arrive at the Pedego® Franklin electric bike store in Franklin, Tenn., on Saturday, Oct. 14. Monroe is riding her electric bike 1,700 miles from Tulsa, Okla., to Richmond, Va. Altogether, her journey will take her nearly 5,000 miles across 15 states.

The spirited five-foot two-inch adventurer is headed back home, riding her 24-inch Pedego Interceptor electric bike. Monroe’s sole companion has been Cynthiana, AKA “Thina,” a formerly stray dog named for the Arkansas state grape. Thina joined Monroe on her journey when she was working at an Arkansas vineyard. Along her journey, Monroe works for her keep at restaurants and other small businesses, staying in locals’ homes or camping. On the trip back to the East Coast, Monroe and Thina will cycle through seven states. They are expected to arrive in Richmond, Va., on Nov. 13.

“It’s a joy to see America from a bicycle, especially with my dog Thina along for the ride in her trailer,” said Monroe, 35. “My Pedego Interceptor electric bike empowers me to easily visit sites that would be impossible to reach by car — and make a lot of new friends, too.”

A native of Rutland, Mass., Monroe was a bartender and professional photographer working 60 hours per week when she decided to walk across America and find new inspiration for her life. On her year-long journey, she has relied on the kindness of strangers for part-time work, food and housing. She has discovered that people are inspired by her endeavor, and most are happy to help her, even if their own circumstances permit them to barely scrape together 10 dollars.

“We at Pedego Franklin are thrilled to welcome Lindsay to Franklin and to cheer her on for her 1,700-mile ride to the East Coast,” said Kem Harris, co-owner of the Pedego Franklin electric bike store. “Lindsay is riding a seafoam green Pedego 24-inch Interceptor, which boasts a rugged 500-watt motor and a powerful 48-volt battery that will enable her to pull Thina’s pet trailer the whole way.”

“Lindsay is an inspiration to us all,” said Pedego Electric Bikes CEO and co-founder Don DiCostanzo. “She shows us that we can take control of our lives, enjoy great adventures and make a lot of friends along the way.”
