Talbots Toyland opened for business in San Mateo in 1953. Over the years the business has evolved from a neighborhood toy store to a specialty store servicing the general toy, juvenile, hobby and bicycle needs of the San Francisco Peninsula.

In the early 70s, Talbots expanded into a full-scale, full service bicycle shop, representing quality bikes.
