Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Sales Associate to join our team at our Pedego Electric Bike Shop in Frederick, MD. The Sales Associate will be responsible for promoting and selling Pedego electric bikes and accessories to customers, as well as providing excellent customer service, overseeing rental and tour experiences, and updating shop inventory.

Key Responsibilities:

• Enthusiastically greet customers and assist them in selecting Pedego electric bikes and accessories that meet their needs and preferences
• Answer customer questions about Pedego electric bike features and capabilities, as well as financing and delivery options
• Demonstrate Pedego electric bikes to customers and take them on test rides, if necessary
• Process sales transactions and handle customer payments
• Oversee the rental and tour experience, including coordinating with customers, preparing bikes and equipment, and leading tours as needed
• Maintain accurate records of sales, rentals, and customer information
• Update shop inventory and restock as needed
• Participate in ongoing training to stay up-to-date on new products and industry developments
• Contribute to a positive and professional team environment

Qualifications:

• 1 year of sales experience, preferably in the bike or outdoor recreational industry
• Excellent verbal, written & electronic communication and customer service skills
• Enthusiasm for riding electric bikes and a desire to promote sustainable transportation
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with point-of-sale systems

We are gearing up for a big season at both locations and we are looking for high energy, experienced retail sales leaders, with a fun-loving attitude to join our growing team! Our stores are located at 14440 F Street and 1505 Farnam St. Both stores have great access to biking trails. Key to our culture is that we treat our customers and team members like family; we delight customers by going the extra mile to ensure they receive the excellent service Pedego maintains as a core value. We offer a flexible schedule, understanding everyone has a life to maintain. Ideal candidates will generally be available to work Monday – Saturday, approximately 10 AM – 6PM. We aren’t focused on titles or job descriptions; we all pitch in to do whatever is required to exceed customer expectations and maintain our process & detail-oriented operation. Employees will move between stores when needed, but will generally have a primary store they will be routinely working in.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Gregarious, enthusiastic, people-loving, self-starter with a solid work ethic.
• Retail sales experience, minimum 2 years.
• High energy, positive attitude, team player.
• Organized; clear thinker & communicator.
• Flexible, adaptable, tidy.
• Ability to ride an electric bike.
• Ability to lift 60lbs.

Awesome to have (but not required) Qualifications:

• Merchandising experience
• Sporting goods retail experience
• Bicycle industry experience; knowledge of electric bikes.
• Enthusiastic about & comfortable with executing a diverse range of tasks, from sweeping & cleaning bathrooms to sales, merchandising, marketing & social media.
• Rental fleet management experience.
• Tour leader experience; skilled in leading & mapping tours .
• Event leadership/rep experience @ trade shows, festivals, green markets, etc.

Job Details:

• $16 to $18/hour.
• Must be able to work most weekends.

Electric bike mechanic/Salesperson

• Clean driving record

• Finishing bike builds
• Wheel Truing
• Interacting with the customers on the phone and in person

• Ability to transition to the sales floor to help with sales
