Pedego Myrtle Beach celebrates grand opening in style
IRVINE, Calif., April 15, 2015 — When Aaron Maynard retired from the U.S. Armed Forces as an Air Force Colonel, he and his wife Michele knew what they wanted next: A life filled with fun. In fact, Aaron likes to say that he traded in his old uniform for a new one — shorts and flip-flops. The “fun” part also came easy as the Maynards discovered and decided to share the joys of Pedego® electric bikes with their Myrtle Beach community. Pedego Myrtle Beach’s Grand Opening Celebration is scheduled for April 25 at 1:00 p.m., and the public is invited. In attendance will be Don DiCostanzo, CEO and co-founder of Irvine, Calif.-based Pedego Electric Bikes. “I’m really excited to see Pedego arrive in Myrtle Beach,” said DiCostanzo. “We’re happy to report that both locals and visitors to this region are falling in love with our electric bikes.”
Activities begin at 10:00 a.m. with a free Pedego electric bikes group ride. Pedego owners are invited to bring their bikes and ride. Free rentals are also available to the public on a first-come-first-served basis. For more information on the group ride, call 843-602-6941. The party starts at the store at 1:00 p.m., and guests will enjoy a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the official opening of Pedego Myrtle Beach. In the spirit of fun, the Maynards will offer several prizes and giveaways to guests who take a test ride on a Pedego bike. “We know test rides will be a highlight of the Grand Opening party for a lot of people,” Michele said. Door prizes will be offered at the party as well as free Pedego sports watches going to the first 50 people who test ride a bike. And, of course, refreshments will be served.
Myrtle Beach is the perfect location for a Pedego store as bike rentals make a thrilling adventure for visitors to this vacation destination. Pedego Myrtle Beach is located in Market Common, a new outdoor dining, shopping and entertainment venue that is already a tourist favorite. The shop will also offer electric bike tours to scenic Myrtle Beach State Park, one mile away.
Returning to their home state of South Carolina from London, England, the Maynards have made Pedego Myrtle Beach a family adventure. Their sons — Reid, 22, and Max, 21 — work at the store too. Aaron is making good use of a Business/Marketing degree as he shares the news about Pedego Myrtle Beach’s arrival with the region. And there’s a lot of great news to share. The store offers a variety of chic, sturdy and leading-edge electric bicycles. The stylish Comfort Cruiser line and sleek City Commuters are among numerous models that also include off-road Trail Trackers and low-slung Boomerang bikes. Pedego Myrtle Beach has a model for everyone.
