Pedego La Jolla offers electric bike rentals and tours that feature breathtaking coastal scenery. Located in the seaside neighborhood of Bird Rock, just south of La Jolla Village, the store is adjacent to bike paths along some of the most picturesque coastal views in California. Pedego La Jolla’s scenic tours include the Lookout Tour and the Couples Romantic Tour along the La Jolla coastline to La Jolla Cove. These, and other destinations including Mount Soledad, Torrey Pines State Park, historic Crystal Pier in Pacific Beach, and world’s largest natural aquatic park near Sea World, make riding Pedego bikes an especially rewarding adventure.

Long-time couple Sheffer and Galka fell in love with Pedego bikes on an all-day ride from Coronado Island to Imperial Beach along the famous Silver Strand. They had such a fantastic experience on the electric bikes that they immediately considered the potential for a business.  “With our hilly community and coastal headwinds, we knew that our neighbors and visitors would love Pedego bikes as much as we do,” said Galka.

Sheffer brings 30 years of retail and wholesale experience in the sporting goods and cycling industries, specifically in apparel, footwear and accessories, to her new store. This experience helps her uniquely understand the needs of her customers in finding the right Pedego bikes for them.

The store sells all 12 models of Pedego’s popular electric bikes. Pedego bikes have 500-watt hub motors that help riders cruise distances of 20 to 60 miles without getting tired and sweaty. The twist-and-go throttle gives riders instant manual control over their speed while Pedal Assist automatically adds power to their pedaling. Riders love Pedego’s California-style cruisers, including the Pedego Platinum Interceptor, a fully loaded cruiser bike with a 48-volt battery that propels riders with extra power; the Pedego Interceptor, which boasts the same powerful 48-volt battery; and Pedego’s Comfort Cruiser, which is powered by a 36-volt battery for gentle help with hills. Also available are the sleek City Commuter; the sturdy Stretch cargo bike; the Trail Tracker fat-tire bike for riding on sand, gravel and snow; the Ridge Rider electric mountain bike; and the Latch, an ingenious folding bike, designed for portability and convenience. Other models include the electric tandem bike for two and the accessible Pedego Boomerang with an ultra-low step-thru frame. Pedego also offers the Airstream model for camping devotees. Free test rides are available at the store.

“Pedego La Jolla is destined to become one of the nation’s most popular Pedego stores,” said Pedego Electric Bikes CEO and co-founder Don DiCostanzo. “The sheer size of their showroom and rental fleet is opening up an exciting new path to fun for the region.”
