New Pedego Electric Bike Store in Gilbert Hosts Grand Opening
Pedego Gilbert Partners with Local Food Banks to Give Back
GILBERT, AZ – November 20, 2020
A new Pedego® Electric Bike store has opened in Gilbert, Arizona, and offers Pedego’s full lineup of e-bike sales, rentals, services, and accessories. Pedego Gilbert will be holding a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday, November 23, 2020, at 4 PM MST, to honor their grand-opening. Hosted by Mayor Scott Anderson, Mayor-elect Brigette Peterson, Pedego Electric Bikes of Gilbert, the Gilbert Chamber of Commerce, and community leaders this event can be seen via Zoom online or masked and socially distanced in-person outside the Pedego Gilbert store.
In the spirit of the holiday season, Pedego Gilbert will be offering raffle tickets for purchase at this event and will continue until December 15, 2020 (or until 500 tickets are sold) for the chance to win a Pedego Comfort Cruiser. Each raffle ticket will cost $20 and all proceeds will be split between three local Arizona food banks.
Michael Curtin had the soft opening of his store in Gilbert at the beginning of October. Michael owns a staffing business in the commercial real estate industry in New York; however, since the COVID-19 pandemic struck through the U.S. Michael saw a lapse in his business.
Michael was first introduced to Pedego through his brother-in-law who is a partner at the Cape May location, and after he tried one of his electric bikes– he fell in love with Pedego. Once he met Don DiConstanzo, founder and CEO of Pedego, they got to talking about the opportunities that not only Pedego but the electric bike industry as a whole, had been presented with during the pandemic, and Michael decided he was in. “Pedego seemed like the perfect new business for me to go into, and once I found the location for my store in Gilbert it was an absolute no-brainer– I knew this was going to be a great opportunity,” explains Michael.
Michael independently owns and operates Pedego Gilbert which is located near the Arizona Canal Path. The Canal Path connects you to multiple large cities within the state of Arizona including Scottsdale, Chandler, Tempe, and Mesa, depending on which direction you decide to travel. “Our goal is to locate our stores in areas that are bike-friendly and easily accessible to cyclists,” says Don DiCostanzo, “When Michael came to us with this location we knew it was going to be a success– his hard work and dedication from the beginning was something we were honored to invest in.”
Michael, who was a prior marathon runner, decided to trade in his running shoes for an electric bike and he couldn’t be happier about it. A few years ago, he had to quit running due to an injury and a regular bike never seemed to interest him, but once he got on a Pedego all that had changed. “An electric bike gives me the perfect combination of thrill and adrenaline– I get the same rush I did when I was running,” Michael describes. Although this new path wasn’t planned, Michael is excited about what the future holds for Pedego Gilbert. Michael states, “There is something to be said about customers coming back from their first ride on a Pedego… they really do come back with a smile.” Michael wants to ensure that each person who comes through his doors, walks away with the same feeling of joy he felt after his first ride.
