New Pedego Electric Bikes Store Cruises Into Fort Lauderdale

Now Open, the 112th Pedego store invites the public to its Dec. 9 Grand Opening

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., Nov. 15, 2017 — A new Pedego® Electric Bikes store is now open in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Co-owned by Curtis and Mary Johnson and Mary’s son, Austin Kiick, Pedego Fort Lauderdale provides rentals, tours and sales of Pedego electric bikes that empower riders to enjoy cycling around town. Pedego Fort Lauderdale’s Grand Opening Celebration is planned for Saturday, Dec. 9, and the public is invited. The festivities will include free test rides and a group ride on Pedego electric bikes as well as raffles, prizes and complimentary refreshments from the local foodie scene. Miami Dolphins player Jim Kiick, Number 21, running back from ’68 to ’78, will sign autographs.

“We fell in love with these bikes on our very first ride,” said Mary Johnson. “In fact, we decided to open a Pedego store in Fort Lauderdale that same day because we knew our community and visitors would love these bikes, too.”

Pedego Fort Lauderdale offers rentals of and self-guided tours on Pedego electric bikes. The store offers a perfect starting point to ride to many popular destinations in and around Fort Lauderdale. Riders may cruise along scenic bike lanes and paths to the famous Fort Lauderdale Beach where the film Where the Boys Are was filmed as well as sightseeing, dining and shopping destinations in the dazzling Rio Vista neighborhood and riding along Las Olas Boulevard and the Galleria Mall. Other paths lead to the historic Bonnet House Museum and Gardens, Stranahan House and Hugh Taylor birch State Park.

The store sells all 12 models of Pedego’s popular electric bikes. Pedego bikes have 500-watt hub motors that help riders cruise distances of 20 to 60 miles without getting tired and sweaty. The twist-and-go throttle gives riders instant manual control over their speeds while Pedal Assist automatically adds power to their pedaling.
