New Pedego Electric Bikes Store Makes Cycling Fun Again
Pedego Little Rock opens up hilly town to two wheels for all
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., June 18, 2020 — A new Pedego® Electric Bikes store has opened in Little Rock, AR, where Pedego Little Rock owner James Willbanks is excited to offer rentals, sales, service, parts, accessories and apparel of the country’s No. 1 electric bike brand. Free test rides are also available. The store will celebrate with a grand opening party on July 11.
Businessman with a bike crush in middle age raring to share experience
James Willbanks hadn’t pedaled a bicycle much in some 50 years, when a friend suggested he look into electric bikes as his next business venture. He’d lost his motorcycle dealership during the 2008 recession, and was considering next steps, so he took the tip. Pedego Electric Bikes rose to the top of his research results.
Willbanks was sold the first time he rode a Pedego. “This is awesome,” he recalls thinking, and he realized the opportunity. “You can get all the exercise you want and get all the assist you want, or you can just sit back and enjoy the ride. It’s up to you.”
He recently opened Pedego Little Rock on Kavanaugh Boulevard in the Hillcrest Historic District, about a mile from bike trails along the Arkansas River.
Little Rock is the perfect city for Pedegos, he says, because of its hilly terrain, which can discourage cycling for some.
“People don’t necessarily want to carry their bikes somewhere, because they feel like if they leave home, they won’t be able to get back,” he says, jokingly referring to riders such as himself as “short, fat old guys having fun riding bikes” because they discovered Pedego. “I have to get down a huge hill to get where the bike trails are; I can get up that hill now.”
Pedego Little Rock has an exclusive agreement to sell the country’s top-selling electric bicycle brand in central Arkansas.
The store sits within easy pedaling distance to a 14-mile loop trail between Big Dam Bridge and the William J. Clinton Presidential Library to the east and Two Rivers Park to the west, for a ride full of tree-lined scenery along the Arkansas River.
Willbanks plans to offer guided Pedego tours around Little Rock.
