Our adventure begins from our doorstep then heads south east to the Olympic Discovery Trail (ODT). Our first stop will be to a local farm to pick up some fresh ingredients for our chef to incorporate into tomorrow’s breakfast. We’ll continue past picturesque barns and grazing horses to a family lavender farm to learn about how Sequim came to be known as The Lavender Capitol of North America. After another few miles along quiet country roads we’ll stop by a socially and environmentally responsible dairy farm that not only focus’ on efficiency, but animal health, comfort and wellbeing. Making our way south we’ll arrive in downtown Sequim to meet second generation coffee roasters and a few blocks away enjoy some olive oil and vinegar tasting at Sequim Spice and Tea. A jaunt up the hill is oh so easy on our Pedego Premium bikes and we arrive for lunch at Nourish, one of Washington’s first and oldest herb farms, where they are passionate about serving and growing organic food and sourcing from local growers. After lunch we’ll cruise on down the hill to again pick up the ODT. The heart of the Olympic Discovery trail, Railroad Bridge Park, showcases the Railroad Bridge built in 1915. We’ll stop to enjoy stunning views and the rushing sound of the Dungeness River below us. As we near the end of our days travels we’ll make one last stop at a relaxed country store built in 1926, where featured “local” produce could quite possibly come from next door or across the street. Surprisingly known for its great selection of wine, it also showcases Washington beers and hard cider on tap. Perhaps we should pick up a growler or two to enjoy during tonight’s happy hour??

Westward Ho!! Out the driveway and in less than a mile we are again on the Olympic Discovery Trail, but today we head west. Remarkably different from yesterday’s ride we travel rolling hills through thick forests but again cross bridges and Creeks along the way. Eventually the trail breaks north to reach the Straight of Juan de Fuca, then follows the shoreline four miles into downtown Port Angeles and the city pier. We may notice the Coho Ferry coming in from Canada as we make our way past the terminal toward the Port of Port Angeles where transport of logs by water to the mills in Puget Sound once dominated the waterfront. We end our ride today at Elwha River Bridge where we are picked up by our Naturalist Guide for our journey into Olympic National Park. Enjoy the views from the comfort of a modern coach and learn about the history and geography that make this park so unique and spectacular. We’ll stop for a picnic lunch at beautiful Lake Crescent known for its brilliant blue waters and exceptional clarity. After lunch, a short easy hike through the moss-laden forest amongst giant evergreens brings us to one of the most beautiful waterfalls on the Peninsula. As we make our way out of Olympic National Park we’ll stop to meet some local winemakers and sample some of their award winning creations before returning to Colette’s to relax and freshen up. We top off our day with dinner at a local seafood restaurant where the fish you are eating that evening could very well have been swimming in the waters of the Pacific earlier that day.
